The second novel in an astonishingly imaginative fantasy trilogy that began with the critically acclaimed and supernaturally entertaining (Kirkus Reviews) Advent. Look for the thrilling series conclusion, Arcadia, coming soon If there's one thing Gavin Stokes knows, it's that something unimaginably dangerous has returned to the world. A mad dog runs amok, a mermaid floats in the bay, and a wild beast stalks the countryside. He and others make the same strange claim: magic has returned. All signs point to it. Now, Gavin's aunt has disappeared. A young girl who's been accused of murder vanishes from a locked cell. She is at large somewhere in a vast wilderness. Meanwhile, a desolate child leaves the home that has kept her safe all her life and strikes out into the unknown. And a mother, half mad with grief for her lost son, sets off to find him. There is a place where all their journeys meet. But someone is watching the roads.

Review
The second novel in an astonishingly imaginative fantasy trilogy . . . If you're looking for a story that's been written well, is complex and has interesting characters, you have just found what you've been looking for. ANARCHY is all of these things and more - it's a genuine masterpiece of literary fantasy. (Rising Shadow)
This is a brilliant sequel, exploring the themes of its predecessor more deeply whilst broadening the vistas of the world. If Advent was the stone dropping in a pool, Anarchy charts the ripples spreading out from it in ever-widening circles, changing the face of the world. Lyrical, mysterious and uncomfortable, ANARCHY is never less than a riveting read. Who knows where the journey will take us next? I, for one, can't wait to find out. (Geek Syndicate)
Praise for ADVENT, the first in the trilogy (:-)
Mesmerizing fantasy . . . Told with great warmth and insight, ADVENT is an epic tale that will linger in your mind long after you turn the last page. (Deborah Harkness, author of A Discovery of Witches)
Nothing short of magical. It is a rich tapestry of light and dark which has been spun deftly thanks to some delicately intricate - yet nonetheless accessible - prose that stimulates the senses magnificently and so begs the reader to learn more, whether aficionados of the genre or not. (www.welovethisbook.com)
'A beautifully written tale which in one sense feels like a return to old-fashioned storytelling, yet manages to be utterly fresh.' (Bookseller)
'An interesting and original tale, bringing a fresh outlook to old stories,. . . clever twists keep you hooked' (SFX)
'Myth and magic in the modern world. A traditional quest tale beautifully told ' (www.thebookbag.co.uk)
