Early-19th-century American intellectual periodical featuring essays on politics, economics, foreign affairs, and literature during the Jacksonian era. Published by Carey & Lea, one of Philadelphia s most significant antebellum houses. Volumes like this are increasingly scarce intact due to age and paper quality. Interesting book with chapters on the "Abolition of Slavery" (76 pages), "Slavery in Virginia" among other topics of the day. Book binding intact, spine has some loose and missing pieces but front and back cover strong and text complete tight. See photos. Seller Inventory # C1043Rev1
