Print on Demand. This book explores the subject of visceralptosis by investigating the causes and symptoms of one of its common forms, gastroptosis, or the displacement of the stomach. It also examines how other viscera may suffer a similar displacement, especially in women. The author notes that the condition was first studied by Glenard, who recognized that a weakened abdominal wall could be a major factor, and that subsequent research has built on his work to include dress and lifestyle as other factors. As well as detailing the causes and symptoms of the condition, the author also explains the various diagnostic techniques used. The book thus provides a comprehensive overview of gastroptosis that is relevant to doctors and medical students alike, and would be a useful addition to the libraries of those with an interest in the subject. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
