Compartments framed with gold, with titling to second compartment. Gilt frame to boards with color and gilt coat of arms to front board. AEG, and white silk moire endpapers. 366pp. Engraved portraits and color family crests throughout. Limited edition; #31/50. Reading copy only. Boards, with accompanying endpages, detached. Boards lightly shelfworn, with rubbing particularly to raised bands, and corners slightly erose. Small but deep dent to rear board fore-edge. Page edge gilt rubbed and scratched. Interior very good. Endpages moderately toned and fraying slightly at edges. Moderate silverfishing to edges of second front endpage. Very light toning to edges throughout, particularly to plates. Title page has been elaborately decorated, possibly by a previous owner. Interior clean, unmarked, and firmly bound. Families listed: Van Rensselaer, Dana, King, Carroll of Maryland, Dwight, Stuyvesant, Jay, Frelinghuysen, Chew, Morris, Langdon, Hillhouse, Clarkson, Talmage, Willard, Ewing, Astor, and Lee of Virginia.
