Item description from seller

This is the 1856 printing of the revised edition, NOT a modern reprint. Over-sized hardbound (quarto). Bound in full brown leather with black leather spine title label. We have treated the leather with book conservator's leather dressing to good effect. Very little wear or scuffing to the binding. No distortion from improper shelving. Pages are tight and clean with no marks. Light foxing throughout. No name of previous owner. No odor. No water damage. No soiling. The bottom fore-edge corner of the first page of advertisements at the rear of the dictionary is missing (a small piece with minimal loss of advertising text).
