pp 381- 388 (2) p. Softcover in original tied wrapper. 25 cm. Names of two possible former owners on front cover. This weekly publication appears to have been issued in two parts with Part I containing publications of the Massachusetts Historical Society and Part II containing everything else. Almost all of the first three pages on this Part II contain a report titled "AUTHENTIC PARTICULARS, Relative to the loss of the Pandora Frigate, Captain Edwards" about British efforts to deal with some of those accused of being mutineers from the Bounty. Portions of the last two pages deal with an outbreak of small pox in Boston (and also Salem) and plans for permiting small pox vaccination in Boston until September 15th after which further inoculation would be prevented "while the present laws against it are in force." The final note at the bottom of page 388 reassures subscribers as to the safety of the paper (from speading small pox) by noting that the printer had an adequate supply of paper already on hand and that all papers would be smoked before it is taken out of the office. Subscribers were also assured that "all persons engaged in printing the Apollo had the disorder several years ago." At the top of that same page was the offer of a $4 reward for the apprehension and return to Bridewell of "an indented [sic] mulatto servant named Pompey Magus who had escaped from Bridewell, which apears to have been either a Boston workhouse or a place of incarceration for petty crimes.
