- Book 1 of 5: The Heart of Pine Hollow
The California summer sun rose early over Pine Hollow, spilling golden light across the hills and stables. Amanda was already at the barn, her curly hair pulled into a messy ponytail, a bucket of feed in her hands. Squeaky nickered softly, waiting by the gate.
About the Series: The Heart of Pine Hollow
Welcome to Pine Hollow — a heartwarming picture book series that celebrates family, animals, and the simple joys of country life. Each story in this cozy collection invites readers to step into the rolling pastures and golden sunsets of Amanda’s family and farm, where every day brings a new adventure, a new lesson, and a whole lot of love.
At Pine Hollow, family means everything. From Pop Pop’s steady hands building treehouses and teaching roping lessons, to Mee Maw’s endless supply of hugs, snacks, and wisdom, every generation plays a part in the life of the land. It’s a place where nieces, nephews, cousins, and critters all grow up together, come together, visit often — learning to care for animals, for the earth, and for each other.
Each book tells a tender, self-contained story featuring the same beloved family and their ever-expanding farmyard of friends. One day, Amanda and Alex are up all night at the rescue, bottle-feeding llamas. Another day, Lexi learns to say goodbye to her horse Didge as she heads off to college, trusting Mee Maw to keep him safe and loved. Then there’s the time Pop Pop and Dillon built a treehouse for little Sage, or when the kids rescued a giant turtle named Steve and built him a home of his own with cinder blocks and laughter.
No two stories are the same, yet together they weave a beautiful portrait of country living — filled with muddy boots, whinnying horses, braying donkeys, and the gentle hum of real farm life. Readers will meet new animal friends, discover the bonds between generations, and learn how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
Though “The Heart of Pine Hollow” books can be read in any order, the full collection unfolds like a family photo album — a living timeline of love, laughter, and lessons passed down through the years. From childhood wonder to grown-up memories, every page feels like coming home.
These stories are inspired by the timeless rhythms of rural life — mending fences, caring for animals, sharing home-cooked meals, and watching the seasons turn. But more than that, “The Heart of Pine Hollow” reminds readers that a family’s roots grow deepest when they’re nurtured with patience, hard work, and heart.
Perfect for bedtime reading, classroom shelves, or cozy afternoons by the fire, “The Heart of Pine Hollow” is a series for animal lovers, dreamers, and anyone who believes that family — no matter how big, small, or scattered — is where our story truly begins.
Whether it’s laughter in the barn, a midnight rescue at the shelter, or a brand-new foal taking its first wobbly steps, “The Heart of Pine Hollow” invites readers of all ages to join the family, meet the animals, and share in the adventures that make this place more than just land — it’s home.
So come visit “The Heart of Pine Hollow”. Bring your boots, your heart, and your imagination. The animals are waiting, the cocoa’s on, and the stories — like the sunsets — just keep getting better.
