At its time of its publication it was aimed at people who where unfamiliar with Huxley's work. It offers an excellent and systematic introductory guide to Huxley's fiction, essays and stories, with chapters on his life and his general thought, and very thoroughly and fairly describes his achievements in the various literary media which he has adopted. It was badly reviewed at its time of publication. But time passes! /// This is 1st edition hardback with its dustjacket, in good condition-the previous owner has written there name on the inside cover / the edges of the dustjacket are scuffed&slightly chipped / the 'DJ' is marked/dirty / the cloth of the cover is very slightly marked & the lettering of the book has come off.
