Covers are worn, creased, moderate shelf wear, light soiling to wraps, stapled binding tight, pages have creasing. From the Forward: ".In this latest group of paintings, Alan Feltus has made another smooth but very encompassing step forward into the depth of psychologically intense figurative work in which he finds himself most comfortable. His enigmatic imaginary dramas involve himself and members of his family, either literally or by representation, and the dramas are highly charged as a result. It's as if the cool sensibility of the women who populated his past paintings has been left behind in America; here, in Umbria, in these paintings, every action, every movement, every moment people spend with each other has depth and meaning. It's a complex place, this Italy, where few things are as they seem. Thousands of years of civilization have formed a place of infinite layers of history and meaning. Alan Feltus is about uncovering every layer as he expands his art. The subject of these paintings is the interaction of the people, their reaction to their environment, and how they see themselves. Enigmatic, mysterious, difficult, deep: these paintings are as interesting and memorable as the region of their creation. Alan Feltus, a devoted follower of Piero della Francesca, a tireless traveler, a student of interpersonal relationships, and most of all a gifted artist, puts his life and his place in fascinating perspective for all of us." - Robert Fishko.…
