Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Cover title is "United States Coast Guard aircraft 1917-1977", which is different from the title on the title page. Illustrated wraps, no page numbers but approximately 86 pages, illustrated with black-and-white photographs which are captioned, includes aircraft specifications reprinted from Aviation News 1974, United Kingdom. Wraps lightly worn/soiled, light wear at top of spine and corners, bottom of spine bumped with a small tear, inside back cover and last page has some light foxing. From the Foreword: "Our purpose in producing this pamphlet is to present chronologically the various aircraft, owned or borrowed, that were operated by the U.S. Coast Guard. A few aircraft that were leased on a trial basis or operated for a very short period of time are not included. The famous NC-4, Navy seaplane, that made the first Trans-Atlantic crossing is not included, but it is mentioned because of the first Coast Guard aviator, LT stone, was a member of the crew."
