A very rare original set of the ATA's Ferry Pilots Notes. Published in 1943 and amended through 1946. Named to W/O Halkiew operating from 4 Ferry Pilot pool at Hawarden Chester. H/b ring bound flip cards. Approx. 11 x 16cm. January 1945. Marked 'For Official Use Only'. Produced for ferry pilots by the headquarters, Transport Command. As Ferry pilots had to deliver a wide range of different aircraft types these were designed to be a memory aid for use 'after the pilot has made himself familiar with the particular type of aircraft by having been converted to the particular type of aircraft.' Cards for new/different aircraft and amendments/alterations could easily be added as necessary. This set includes amongst others the 'Albermarle, Avenger, Battle, Blenheim, Beaufighter, Corsair, Dakota, Defiant, Fortress II & III, Hellcat, Hurricane & Sea Hurricane, Halifax, Lysander, Lancaster I, II, III & X & Lancastrian, Liberator, Mustang, Mosquito, Spitfire & Seafire, Stirling, Typhoon, Whitley IV, V & VII, Wildcat, Wellington, Walrus and many others.
