The principal spreadsheet cell contents are listed and the user is encouraged to adapt these spreadsheets for design applications. The author's book Building Services Engineering Spreadsheets will be a valuable reference for such adaptations. The design of air conditioning systems involves considerable calculation work, which is now mainly carried out using dedicated computer software.

However, the engineering principles need to be fully understood in the first instance, as do the basic formulae and calculation techniques used.
