Hardcover. The emergence of agentic artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming higher education by introducing systems capable of autonomously performing tasks, making decisions, and adapting to complex educational environments with minimal human intervention. Unlike traditional AI tools, agentic AI can proactively support learning, personalize educational experiences, automate administrative processes, and assist faculty with teaching, research, and student engagement. As institutions embrace digital transformation, these intelligent systems can improve efficiency, accessibility, and academic outcomes. However, their adoption also raises important questions related to ethics, data privacy, accountability, and the evolving roles of educators and students. Understanding both the opportunities and challenges of agentic AI is essential to realizing its potential and shaping the future of higher education. Agentic AI and the Intelligent Transformation of Higher Education explores how agentic AI systems support teaching, learning, research, and administrative functions across higher education institutions. It examines the opportunities and challenges associated with adoption, including personalized learning, institutional transformation, ethical considerations, data privacy, and the changing responsibilities of educators and students. The book also investigates strategies for the effective governance and implementation of agentic AI in academic settings. Covering topics such as instructional design, agentic governance, and educational technology, this book is a valuable resource for educators, administrators, engineers, academicians, researchers, and industry professionals.
