About this Item
192pp. with 9 illustrations, marbled endpapers, half calf green boards, leather spine. The contents are in very good condition with just a touch of foxing to a minority of pages. A bookplate appears on the front endpaper. The binding is tight. The covers are in good order overall; the leather is rubbed at the corners and edges and the covers and spine have a few marks. This volume contains accounts of the exploits of Lord Edward Hawke (1705-1781), an officer of the Royal Navy best remembered for his service during the Seven Years' War and his victory over a French fleet at the Battle of Quiberon Bay in 1759, preventing a French invasion of Britain.
