South America, Argentina, Buenos Aires, Calle Guatemala 5826, eighth floor, balcony, view down: there, embedded in the orthogonal, the ground parceling grid of the city, lies a place like from a narrative of Jorge Luis Borges' - a patio all seemingly disentrapped after the time. But not only there. Again and again, the ego in Pascal Tarris's award-winning essay encounters such refuges escape the everyday economic constraints, the "endless scroll" of digital late capitalism. And again and again, the picture is broken, pushes the world in, makes itself noticeable the fast-paced and crisis-like, exploitative and sometimes fantasy-less "awkwardness" of the age of artificial intelligence, and the travelling essayist recognises: Instead of fleeing from it in utopias, it is important to encounter it with an equally critical and realistic attitude, because: »»No Eskapism frees us from being in the world."

Store description
