Item description from seller

Aerial Navigation: The Best Method. By Daniel Caulkins and published in Toledo. 1895. 90 pp. 9 x 6.25. 8vo. Hardcover full cloth. Overall fair ex-library copy, with scuffing and losses along edges and corners of boards and spine. Cracking to front hinge, with some instances of light wear within text block. Ex-library from the Indiana Central College Library, with assorted markings and stampings. Includes seven plates throughout, along with frontispiece of Caulkins. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce piece by Caulkins that offered far-sighed predictions on the development of air travel and its various possible uses. A great reading copy of a work published less than a decade before the Wright Brothers first successful flight at Kitty Hawk.
