Pictorial matt boards are moderately bumped at the ends but very good on the front and rear with no wear. Black vignette of Rupert on rear. Touch of grubbiness. Binding is firm and contents clean throughout with no ownership marks. Dustjacket has very little wear just as usual a bit at the spine ends. Rear wrapper lists the first 9 original series stories. This copy is in amazing condition for age and compared to the quality of other Rupert titles from this period Original series. Also includes Rupert And The Stolen Apples. Yellow pictorial boards. Price One Shilling to front pastedown inside box advertising Number 7 in the series. B/w illustrations. Advert for Rupert and the Three Robbers to rear pastedown. All of these books in the original series were written and illustrated by Mary Tourtel (1874-1948), the English artist who created the "Rupert Bear" character. They were published in the years 1928-36. There were 46 books in this original series and they all had distinctive yellow covers.
