Vast blue sea and its shore has always fascinated and evoked human curiosity from the time immemorial, man has explored the resourceful sea and got enriched by its knowledge and hidden wealth. The aesthetic beauty of the sea and its shore has no comparison. Relentless dashing of waves and high low tides are spectacular. Moreover, the scenic beauty of dawn, colourful sunrise, sunset along with full-moon nights which always spread magical spell over all.
Ancient mythology has also given us many inspiring and enchanting stories of Gods and demons who had explored the sea. Universal evolution theory of human life traces its origin from seawater. Indian Mythology depicts the Ten Incarnations i.e. 'Dasavatara' of Lord Vishnu. Among which the first two, i.e. the fish (Matsya) and turtle (Kurma) are aquatic creatures. IN another interesting story the importance of sea is described as the 'Samudra Manthan' (Churning of the Ocean) by the Devas (Gods) and 'Danavas' (Demons) and eventually their fight to acquire the 'Amrit Kumbha' (Pot of Nectar) is famous. There are many such mythological stories which shows that, in that ancient age also, they knew the value of the ocean. An unsatiable urge to explore the mysteries of sea has challenged mankind through ages. Apart from these virtuous aspects the sea has some vicious aspects also. Often it unleashes the demonic and devastating powers during heavy storms, cyclones and tsunamis. Among these sea borne calamities "Tsunami" rarest in occurrence but with worst consequences.
When earthquake happen in sea-bed, then "Tsunami" takes place. Huge and gigantic killer waves engulfs and encroaches the sea-shore and create havoc and destruction throughout the coastal lines.
Recent Tsunami has proved it well. The killer waves have mercilessly ravaged the entire coastal belt of South- eastern Asia. Those huge gigantic waves appeared like unchained demons which caused death and destruction everywhere. Many died, many were devoured by the angry and hungry sea. But some were miraculously saved. Such is the story of an amazing little boy, who was swayed off by these killer-waves and got separated from his parents. He was on a broken wooden door in the sea of uncertainty. What would happen to him, nobody knows. The angry waves might devour him or he might escape death. His fate was dwindling in the waves of the turbulent sea. Could he brave the rough sea? It would be interesting to observe what destiny has in store for this tiny soul. How would he be able to live in this alien sea shore. As it is said that every cloud has a silver lining. So also the cloud of misery of the little-boy coming ashore in that deplorable condition, may prove as a silver lining. That remote sea-shore, may restore his life.
