Paperback. ADVENTURES IN THE ARCANE returns! When the world is at its darkest, heroes will rise to stand for the light. And so will Adventures in the Arcane, returning for its fifth outing with three all-new tales of terror and suspense! In 1941, Doc Riley of the Flying Zombies-a man without a crew-enters Nazi-occupied Paris on a secret mission for Black 23 and the British Special Operations Executive. His two-fold mission: discover the truth about a strange phantom that harries and haunts the Germans, and pass an artifact to a French Resistance leader. What part will the famous dancer Josphine Baker play? Learn the secrets in 'Fear Le Fantome' by Tony Simmons. In 1984, a suburban husband and wife prepare for a night with the neighbors, leaving their infant son and his teenage babysister to their own devices. But the devil is in the details, and a secret ceremony will have tragic consequences in 'An Unfortunate Invocation' by Jayson Kretzer. Featuring the never-before-revealed secret origin of a fan-favorite character! In 1925, between the wars and in the liminal space where southeastern Europe transitions to Asia, Black 23 special agents Dorian and Constance Drood seek a missing mystic who is somehow tied up with their friend, Capt. Bullshark Dempsey. The hunt will take them from the murky depths of Lake Van to the molten fury of an ancient tomb inside a volcanic vent, and will bring Ahala's Dagger-not to mention its sultry mistress-back into their lives. Don't miss 'The Mystic's Treature' by Mark Boss. As an added bonus, an author's note about each story is included. This item is printed on demand.
