About this Item
Complete edition in full gilt- and blind-stamped cloth, with a frontispiece illustration by John Gilbert. The book is inscribed to John Milroy by his cousin on 30 November 1851, 4 days before Milroy sailed from Liverpool to Sydney on 4 December 1851 on the ship the Gibson Craig. A later note records that Milroy settled in the town of Wooloomooloo and later became mayor. Wooloomooloo is the old dock area of Sidney, now gentrified. Milroy Avenue in Sydney is possibly named after John Milroy. Seller Inventory # 015292
