Paperback. In cities across the world, street vendors play a vital role in local economies and community life-yet they are often met with conflict, eviction, and exclusion in the name of urban order. Advancing a Conflict-Free Model of Coaching and Policing Street Vendors offers a bold rethinking of how cities can manage informal trade without sacrificing social justice or economic potential. Blending policy insight with real-world challenges, this book proposes a humane, inclusive model that emphasizes empowerment, dialogue, and strategic urban integration. From participatory planning to innovative vendor relocation schemes, it provides practical, culturally sensitive solutions for governments seeking to balance regulation with respect for livelihoods. A must-read for urban planners, policymakers, and advocates of inclusive development, this book reimagines street vendor management not as a problem to be solved, but as a partnership to be nurtured.
