Transgenic animal biotechnology stands at the forefront of innovation, offering unprecedented opportunities to enhance human health, agricultural productivity, and environmental sustainability. Advances and Applications in Biotechnology: Volume 2―Prospects of Transgenic Animals in Biotechnology presents a timely and authoritative overview of the latest developments in genetic engineering across animal systems. This volume brings together cutting-edge research and practical applications, bridging classical transgenesis with modern genome editing technologies.
What sets this volume apart is its interdisciplinary approach – combining molecular biology, agricultural science, and biomedical innovation – to explore how genetically engineered animals are reshaping the landscape of biotechnology. From livestock engineered to produce therapeutic proteins to microbial systems designed for bioremediation, the book offers a panoramic view of current capabilities and future prospects.
Key Features:
- Expanded coverage of genome editing tools for personalized health applications in animal biotech.
- In-depth analysis of transgenic livestock as bioreactors for human therapeutics.
- Comparative insights into classical transgenesis and advanced DNA genesis technologies.
- Exploration of molecular toxicity in genetically engineered animals and strategies for remediation.
- Emerging roles of transgenic bacteria and Euglena in environmental cleanup and sustainability.
This volume is an essential resource for researchers, academic professionals, and graduate students in biotechnology, veterinary sciences, molecular biology, and agricultural engineering. It also serves as a valuable reference for policy makers and industry stakeholders seeking to understand the ethical, regulatory, and practical dimensions of transgenic animal technologies. With its forward-looking perspective and comprehensive scope, this book is poised to inform and inspire the next generation of biotechnological innovation.
