About the Author
Dr. Mohsen Sheikholeslami is the Head of the Renewable Energy Systems and Nanofluid Applications in Heat Transfer Laboratory at the Babol Noshirvani University of Technology, in Iran. He was the first scientist to develop a novel numerical method (CVFEM) in the field of heat transfer and published a book based on this work, entitled "Application of Control Volume Based Finite Element Method (CVFEM) for Nanofluid Flow and Heat Transfer". He was selected as a Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher (Top 0.01%) by Clarivate Analytics, and he was ranked first in the field of mechanical engineering and transport globally (2020-2021) according to data published by Elsevier. Dr. Sheikholeslami has authored a number of books and is a member of the Editorial Boards of the ‘International Journal of Heat and Technology’ and ‘Recent Patents on Nanotechnology’.
Dr. Narges Ataollahi is an Associate Professor and Head of the Electrochemical Energy Laboratory at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Trento in Italy. She has a solid scientific background in the field of electrochemistry and materials science & technology. Her academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Chemistry, a Master’s degree in chemistry with a focus on solid polymer electrolytes for Li-ion battery applications, and a PhD in which she concentrated on anion exchange membranes for electrochemical applications. Her research interests comprise a wide range of areas such as anion exchange membranes for fuel cells and water electrolyzers, solid polymer electrolytes, thin-film photovoltaic, thin-film thermoelectric generators, sustainable thermoelectric materials, chemical modification, functionalized nanoparticles, chalcogenide nanocrystals, and materials synthesis and characterizations. She has written multiple papers in various filed of chemistry, material science and engineering.
Ziba Khalili graduated from Babol Noshirvani University of Technology in Iran. Her academic journey has been marked by a relentless pursuit of knowledge and a fervent dedication to advancing renewable energy systems. With a Master of Science degree specializing in Mechanical Engineering and a focus on heat transfer, she has delved into cutting-edge research on photovoltaic/thermal systems. Her thesis, meticulously examines the intricate interplay between confined jet impingement and the efficiency of photovoltaic thermal solar units, ingeniously integrating thermoelectric generators and hybrid nanofluids. She has published extensively in reputable journals, elucidating innovative cooling techniques and system designs aimed at enhancing the performance of solar energy systems. Beyond her academic achievements, she has actively engaged in international collaborations and served as a teaching assistant and research assistant, demonstrating her commitment to both academia and practical applications in renewable energy systems.
Paolo Scardi is a full professor, chair of Materials Science & Technology and group leader of Energy Materials at the Department of Civil, Environmental & Mechanical Engineering, with the University of Trento (Italy) since 1986. Research interests include thin films and nanostructured materials, X-ray diffraction methods and materials crystallography; in recent years, interests have focused on atomistic modelling and applications of nanomaterials to renewable energy harvesting.
