It covers a wide range of cutting-edge computational sonochemistry research, providing insights into the mechanisms of the sonochemical process in homogenous aqueous solutions. The computational aspects discussed include pyrolysis, radical generation within collapsing bubbles, number density determination, and pollutants oxidation. Additionally, the book explores the impacts of various phenomena occurring during acoustic bubble oscillation, such as heat and mass transfer, reaction heat, radical generation, and diffusion. It offers detailed insights into the different phenomena affecting acoustic cavitation and its chemical effects, while, it also advances the understanding of the use of single-bubble sonochemistry computation for characterizing multi-bubble systems in an aqueous medium. The book is a valuable resource for students, researchers, academics, and professionals interested in sonochemistry, particularly the chemical and physical impacts of sonication in aqueous homogeneous systems.

Prof. Merouani's research focuses on innovative technologies for water and wastewater treatment, with a particular emphasis on sonochemistry and advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). He has successfully supervised more than 10 PhD theses and has led numerous national research projects in the field of environmental process engineering. To date, he has authored over 150 peer-reviewed international journal articles and contributed to 45 book chapters. He has also edited five books dedicated to sonochemistry and AOPs. His scientific work has received over 4,800 citations according to Scopus, with multiple publications cited over 100 times, and he holds an h-index of 36. In recognition of his academic impact, Prof. Merouani was listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists (Highly Cited Researchers) by Stanford University in 2022, 2023, and 2024. He is an Associate Editor of Scientific African (Elsevier) and serves as a Guest Editor for several Special Issues in MDPI journals, including Catalysts, Energies, and Molecules.
Dr. Kyuichi Yasui is a senior research scientist at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Dr. Yasui received his PhD from the Department of Physics at Waseda University in 1996. His current research focuses on numerical simulations of the sonochemical production of nanocrystals, chemical reactions inside a collapsing bubble, stability of bulk and surface nanobubbles (ultrafine bubbles), and other topics in sonochemistry, sonoluminescence, bubble dynamics, and acoustic cavitation (more than 170 publications).
Oualid Hamdaoui is a full professor of chemical engineering at King Saud University, Saudi Arabia, and a founding member of the Algerian Academy of Sciences and Technologies. He currently heads the Advanced Oxidation and Separation Processes research group. After receiving his B.Sc. and M.Sc. both in Chemical Engineering from Annaba University (Algeria), he received his Ph.D. in Environmental Chemical Engineering from the University of Savoie (France) and his Sc.D. in Chemical Engineering from Annaba University. He received his Habilitation (Accreditation to Supervise Research) in Process Engineering from Annaba University. He has been ranked in the top two percent of the world's best scientists in a database created by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier. His main research interests are sonochemistry, acoustic cavitation, advanced oxidation processes, separation processes, and desalination and water treatment. He has published more than 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals and more than 40 book chapters, edited 3 books, and authored 1 book published by Elsevier, edited 2 books published by De Gruyter, and authored 1 book published by Springer-Nature. He has held several academic appointments as coordinator of M.S. and Ph.D. programs in chemical and environmental process engineering. He has received many awards, including the Thomson Reuters Award in Engineering, the Scopus Award (Elsevier) in Chemical Engineering, the Francophonie Award for Young Researchers Option Sciences and Medicine, ranking first on the list of suitable candidates for the title of Full Professor (Technology Section) of the twenty-sixth (26th) session of the National University Commission, the Abdul-Hameed Shoman Award for Young Arab Researchers in Engineering Sciences, Jordan, and the Best Scientific Publication Award from the National Agency for the Development of University Research.
