Healthcare organizations increasingly depend on information systems to deliver care, coordinate services, support clinical decisions, manage operations, conduct research, and communicate with patients. As the volume and complexity of health information continue to grow, organizations face an equally important challenge: ensuring that information remains private, secure, accurate, available, trustworthy, and properly governed.
**Advanced Health Information Governance: Data Privacy, Security Management, and Information Integrity** provides a structured resource for understanding the principles, practices, controls, and responsibilities involved in governing health information in modern healthcare environments.
Health information governance brings together multiple disciplines. Privacy professionals focus on appropriate use and disclosure of information. Security teams protect systems and data from unauthorized access and threats. Health information professionals manage information quality, documentation, retention, and lifecycle requirements. Compliance teams evaluate regulatory obligations. Healthcare leaders establish accountability and organizational direction.
Effective governance connects these functions into a coordinated framework.
This book explores how healthcare organizations can establish stronger governance structures while addressing the practical challenges associated with digital health information.
Readers will develop a clearer understanding of how privacy, security, data quality, information integrity, access controls, risk management, compliance, and accountability work together.
