Ready to take your Dart skills beyond the basics and start building professional, production-ready applications?
Advanced Dart Programming is a comprehensive guide for developers who already understand the fundamentals of Dart and want to master the advanced language features, development techniques, and software engineering practices used to build modern, high-performance applications. Whether you're developing Flutter apps, web applications, command-line tools, or server-side solutions, this book provides the practical knowledge needed to write clean, efficient, and scalable code.
As the second volume in The Complete Dart Programming Series, this book moves beyond introductory programming concepts and focuses on the advanced capabilities that distinguish experienced Dart developers. Through detailed explanations, practical examples, and real-world scenarios, you'll learn how to leverage the full power of Dart 3 while adopting professional development practices that improve code quality, maintainability, and performance.
Inside this book, you'll learn how to:
- Master modern Dart 3 language features, including records, pattern matching, sealed classes, enhanced enums, and extension types
- Build highly responsive applications using asynchronous programming, Futures, Streams, and advanced concurrency techniques
- Develop concurrent applications with isolates and understand when parallel execution improves performance
- Integrate Dart applications with native C libraries using Foreign Function Interface (FFI)
- Design reusable libraries and publish professional Dart packages
- Automate repetitive tasks with code generation using build_runner and json_serializable
- Organize large projects with Pub Workspaces and effective dependency management
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests using modern testing frameworks
- Debug applications efficiently and apply static analysis and linter rules to improve code quality
- Optimize application performance through profiling, memory management, and efficient coding techniques
- Apply clean architecture principles, modular design, and maintainable software development practices
- Build scalable command-line, web, and Flutter-ready applications using professional engineering techniques
Rather than simply introducing advanced language syntax, this book explains the reasoning behind Dart's design and demonstrates how experienced developers solve real-world software engineering challenges. Each topic explores practical implementation strategies, design trade-offs, performance considerations, and industry best practices, enabling you to make informed decisions when building complex applications.
Every chapter includes detailed explanations, carefully crafted code examples, and practical techniques that reinforce key concepts while encouraging you to write readable, maintainable, and production-quality software. The examples are designed to reflect real development scenarios, helping you bridge the gap between language knowledge and professional application development.
Whether you're an intermediate Dart developer, an experienced Flutter programmer looking to deepen your understanding of the language, or a software engineer expanding your cross-platform development skills, this book will help you unlock the full capabilities of modern Dart.
If you're ready to move beyond the fundamentals and build faster, cleaner, more scalable, and more maintainable applications, Advanced Dart Programming is your essential guide to mastering modern Dart development.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
