About the Author
Ronaldo Ferreira do Nascimento holds a degree in Industrial Chemistry from the Federal University of Maranhao (1991) and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the Institute of Chemistry of Sao Carlos―USP (1997). He is a Full Professor at the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Physical Chemistry at the Federal University of Ceara. He has experience in the area of Chemistry, with an emphasis on separation (chromatographic methods), environmental chemistry (trace analysis), and adsorption (treatment of aqueous effluents).
Giselle Santiago Cabral Raulino holds a degree in Industrial Chemistry from the Federal University of Ceara (2006) and a master’s degree and a doctorate in Civil Engineering – Environmental Sanitation (2011; 2016). She is currently an EBTT professor at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceara. She has experience in the field of Chemistry, with an emphasis on environmental chemistry, trace element analysis, chemometrics, and adsorption using low-cost materials.
Carla Bastos Vidal holds a degree in Technology in Chemical Processes from the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceara – IFCE (2008). He holds a degree in Chemistry from the State University of Ceara (2011) and a master’s (2011) and a PhD (2015) in Civil Engineering with the area of concentration in environmental sanitation at the Federal University of Ceara. He is a postdoctoral fellow in analytical chemistry (2016–2019). He has experience in the area of environmental sanitation, with an emphasis on environmental chemistry, working mainly on the following topics: advanced treatments of industrial effluents and WWTPs, equilibrium modeling and adsorption kinetics, and synthesis of low-cost adsorptive materials.
Ari Clecius Alves de Lima holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Ceara (2003), a master’s degree in Civil Engineering (water resources) from the Federal University of Ceara (2009), and a PhD in Civil Engineering (water resources) from the Federal University of Ceara (2015). He has experience in the area of sanitary engineering, with an emphasis on environmental sanitation, working mainly on the following topics: treatment of water and effluents by advanced oxidative processes and adsorption, solid waste with a focus on composting and biogas production and purification, chromatographic techniques, and statistical tools such as design of experiments, multivariate analysis, and machine learning. He is currently the coordinator of the Laboratory of Residuos Solidos e Efluentes da Fundacao Nucleo de Tecnologia Industrial do Estado do Ceara.
Diego de Quadros Melo holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the State University of Piaui (2009), a master’s and a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the Federal University of Ceara (2010–2015). He is currently an EBTT professor at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of the Sertao Pernambucano. He has experience in the field of chemistry, with an emphasis on chromatographic methods, environmental chemistry, adsorption, and chemistry teaching.
Vicente de Oliveira Sousa Neto holds a degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Ceara (1998) and a PhD in Civil Engineering focused on environmental sanitation from the same university (2012). He has completed a postdoctoral fellowship in physics at the Federal University of Ceara (2019). He is currently a professor in the Department of Chemistry at the State University of Ceara, within the Faculty of Education, Sciences and Letters of the Central Sertao (FECLESC) in Quixada. His expertise includes environmental chemistry, with a focus on bioadsorption (effluent treatment using modified and low-cost bioadsorbents), materials chemistry with an emphasis on developing thin films for photovoltaic cells and creating nanostructured oxides based on transition metals for pollutant removal in water, and computational chemistry, particularly molecular docking studies.
