The publisher's brown cloth-covered binding is sturdy, its front panel scuffed and lightly soiled, its rear mildly scuffed, with a three-quarter inch tear to the head of the rear hinge and the ghost of a small label to the foot of its spine; two small bookseller's stamps at the upper fore-corner of its front pastedown, an attractive chop stamp at its front free endpaper, its front inner hinge cracked, marginal notes in Japanese and corrections (the latter, editorial in nature, including re-numbering the footnotes, and correction of a few errors in typesetting) in pencil, a previous owner's bookplate at the rear pastedown, else internally very good. 300 grams.
