A focused look at the motives and meanings behind the crucifixion story, told through vivid, sermon‑style portraits that invite reflection.
This collection gathers Lent sermons that explore the key figures who shaped the Passion—Judas, Pontius Pilate, Herod, and others—through clear, consequential storytelling. The author grounds each meditation in the events and contrasts the choices of these actors with enduring questions of conscience, justice, and mercy. Read as a devotional study or a thoughtful commentary, the book invites lay readers and clergy alike to consider how these characters’ decisions echo in today’s moral landscape.
Within these pages you’ll find a steady, accessible voice that blends narrative, scripture, and practical reflection to illuminate the drama of Good Friday and the hope of Easter. The discussions probe why people act as they do, how power and fear mold choices, and what the crucifixion teaches about responsibility, integrity, and faith.
- Character portraits of Judas, Pilate, Herod, and others as they move through the Passion story
- Plain language reflections on moral courage, accountability, and the consequences of actions
- Connections between biblical events and timeless questions about justice and conscience
- Thoughtful meditations suitable for personal study or sermon preparation
Ideal for readers of devotional literature and church study, this edition offers focused insights that deepen understanding of the Passion narrative.
