About the Author: VIRGINIA N. GORDON is assistant dean emeritus and adjunct associate professor at Ohio State University. She has written more than forty books, monographs, essays, and articles on advising administration, working with undecided students, and advisor training. She was the founder and first director of the National Clearinghouse on Academic Advising. WESLEY R. HABLEY is director of the ACT Office for the Enhancement of Educational Practices and has served as director of academic advising at Illinois State University and the University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire. He is the author of three monographs on campus practices in academic advising and has been published in the NACADA Journal, the NASPA Journal, and New Directions for Higher Education.
