viii+145; D.J.Furley's sm. sig. to fr.pastedown, otherwise internally clean, tight & unmarked, covers clean and virtually unworn; unclipped jacket has only sl.rubbing to top and faint brown stain marks on back of little consequence, waterstain is in fact clearly visible on verso, but nobody ever sees tha t! Green cloth covers appear undamaged by whatever caused water stain other than faint loss of surface sheen to back when held at an angle. Somewhat uncommon. Needham's chapter is on translating old Chinese scientific and technical texts, Furley's is on translating Greek Philosophy. Others are on French, 'machine translation' (A.D.Booth, who claims the notion of using computers for translation originated with himself) and 'Conference Interpreting'.
