Oblong quarto (9.5 x 12.5 inches); natural linen spine and decorative printed fabric over boards; xl, 100 pp., 66 black and white illustrations, 7 color illustrations, including 3 tipped-in color plates. Prospectus laid in. Some of Henry Chapman Ford's images of the California Missions were first published in 1883 in an edition of only 50 copies. The present volume collects much additional material, including Ford's unpublished narrative text. Limited to 450 copies.

Store description

We had our open bookshop in the town of Sonoma for a total of 17 years, including 9 years at our East Napa St. location, however, as of April 13, 2013 we have closed our doors. Our business is now conducted online, by appointment, and occasionally at antiquarian bookfairs at which we exhibit annually. Chanticleer Books is a sole-proprietorship owned and operated by Steve Blackmer, a full-time bookseller since 1985 and member of the Antiquarian Booksellers¿ Association of America (ABAA) from 1998 to 2026
