Cruikshank Published in London by John Cumberland Circa 1830 J. R. Planché's Amoroso, King of Little Britain is a satirical burlesque and interlude that launched his successful career as a playwright. It was first performed in 1818 and, despite its simple beginnings, earned him critical acclaim and the encouragement to pursue writing professionally, during which he became famous for writing extravaganzas, fairylike musicals, and historically accurate costume designs. Disbound without covers, 5.5 inches tall approx., 19 pages, light marking, and mild creasing wear else in good condition.
