APPARENTEMENTE IL ROMANZO SEMBRA RACCONTARE UNA STORIA D'AMORE, CHE, COME TUTTE LE STORIE D'AMORE, METTE IN SCENA I MECCANISMI DI UN SENTIMENTO SEMPRE IN BILICO TRA PROMESSE E DISINGANNI, TRA ACCENSIONI E SMARRIMENTI. ENRICO E LAURA SONO DUE GIOVANI MEDICI CHE, CON TUTTO L'ARDORE E GLI IMPULSI DELLA GIOVINEZZA, PENSANO DI ESSERE PRONTI, INSIEME, AD AFFRONTARE UN DESTINO GIÀ INDICATO IN QUALCHE MODO DA SOGNI E PROPOSITI TESSUTI IN COMUNE. MA QUALCOSA SUCCEDE A DEVIARE FIN DALL'INIZIO IL CAMMINO PREVISTO, QUALCOSA CHE ERA GIÀ DENTRO DI LORO, UN IMPULSO DIVERSO, COME SOPITO E CELATO DALLA PASSIONE. E L'ALTRO AMORE DI CUI PARLA IL TITOLO, CHE HA UN'IRRUENZA PIÙ SOTTILE MA NON PER QUESTO MENO URGENTE.
