A long and comprehensive French-language almanac of America, Asia, and Africa, and the European colonies there. Of special interest are several lists giving the names of the colonial administrators and military officers of numerous French colonies in the Caribbean and South America. Also included in this edition is the text of Poncelin's RECUEIL DIPLOMATIQUE., which collects laws and arrets pertaining to European colonies in the Americas. "It appears by a note on the back of the title that this work was edited by M. [Poncelin] de la Roche-Tillac [sic]. It was continued annually" - Sabin (1783 edition). Sabin notes that he saw none dated later than 1787, but that it may have been continued until 1791. OCLC locates only two copies of this edition, both in French institutions, and Echeverria and Wilkie add only the British Library and John Carter Brown Library. Scarce.
