ALLEGIANCE: The New World Series Book Three (The New World Series of prehistoric fiction, time travel mystery thriller novels)

The third book in Stephen Llewelyn’s New World Series and the darkest yet...

Captain Douglas must decide which path to take, but with so many lives at stake, it is hard to know who to trust. Powerful enemies and formidable predators continue to make life difficult and dangerous for the New World’s crew, but even more perilous are the shifting sands of allegiance. Betrayals and irreconcilable philosophies splinter the tiny human societies into ever smaller, bitterly opposed groups. It seems he must make a deal with the devil, but which one?

Meanwhile, Tim Norris is powerless and alone, his life or death completely within the gift of their most dangerous enemy. Trapped, he sets out to effect gradual, almost subliminal change from within, but with every act of collaboration he loses a piece of himself. Cut off from the guidance of friends and loved ones, his solo mission feeds a growing fear of his blood heritage. Now, with nothing but memories of home to defend himself, he must face the monster inside and hope to control it when the time comes to set it free.

The time of the New World is coming to an end...

Author Interview:

Q: What makes the New World Series so special?
A: I think the style is part of the appeal. Time travel novels for adults delivered in small, addictive bites, creating a feel of frenetic pace, while making readers think ‘I’ll just read the next bit – OK, one more’. Fans warm to the characters, too, entertained by the disparate natures and constant bickering of people trapped together against their will, lives interwoven with both tragedy and laughter. Time travel, historical and prehistoric fiction themes are a draw in themselves, throw in a perennial bad guy everyone loves to hate, whose ancestors indelibly marked our own history, and there you have it.

Q: Does the reader need to be into dinosaurs?
A: No. Nor science fiction or time travel either. It’s primarily about the nature of people and examining the past to see what may lurk in our future. Fans come from all walks of life. I even get mail from ladies in their 80s! It’s humbling. Dinosaurs provide set dressing for deeper themes that build throughout the series. That said, I wanted to give anyone reading because of the dinosaurs a credible science fiction adventure, too. The animals chosen did live around that time and in those geographical regions.

Q: Why give these books a try?
A: Safe, thoughtful escapism. I like fast-paced tales that twist and turn, keeping you guessing and looking forward to the next reveal. This series couches all that in moderate language. Time travel to the past may seem like pure science fiction adventure, but the characters provide an anchor as they welcome readers into their lives.
