New Revised Edition (as stated upon title page). xxiv, 411 pages. Hardcover: H 20.75cm x L 14cm. Dust jacket rubbed; a few nicks at edge with small chip at spine heel; 2cm tear at rear panel's bottom left; both flaps strongly creased/curled at their terminal edges; front flap's top corner is price-clipped too. Dark blue cloth spine; gray boards. A few leaves towards book's rear have shallow bumping at their top fore-edge corners; pages are otherwise bright and clean. Binding remains fairly crisp. A near fine copy in a very good dust jacket. With six unpaged sections of b/w plates (all new for this revised edition) plus three city maps for Birmingham, Huntsville, and Mobile amongst text; four appendices include Chronology, Bibliography, Map of Alabama in Sections (on pages 391-400 as opposed to the rear pocket large foldout map provided in the 1941 and 1949 editions), and Index. Text divided into three major parts: "Alabama Yesterday and Today" (titled "Past and Present" in the original edition), "Cities" (originally "Courthouse Squares") providing history, description, and points of interest for Anniston, Birmingham, Decatur, Florence, Gadsden, Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery, Selma, and Tuscaloosa, and "Tours" (same as the original).
