These volumes contain about 340 pages each, or over Three Thousand Pages in all, of reading matter, and are illustrated with almost FOUR THOUSAND ENGRAVINGS, a large part of them from drawings and designs made expressly for the purpose. A brief Abstract of the Contents of the several Volumes is subjoined although necessarily compressed as to convey but a very incomplete idea of the number and variety of the topics embraced and the concise and practical manner in which they are created."~~It is perhaps valuable to have the contents of each volume relisted in this the first volume of the reissued series.~~There are no copies of this reissued volume available in commerce, or, for that matter, in institutional holdings.
