Rebound much later in half calf over marbled boards, raised bands to spine with heraldic devices to spine, gilt date, title label lettered in gilt. New endpapers. Titlepage toned with a small piece missing at top edge near gutter; top margins cut away from Preface page presumably to remove former owner's name. Contents foxed in places and generally well thumbed. First published in 1737 as "The memoirs of Sigr. Gaudentio di Lucca". Also published under title: The life & adventures of Sig.
