About the Author
Dr Anna Barbaro is Senior Lecturer of Forensic Biology and Genetics for several degree and post- degree university courses. She served as Director of the Forensic Genetics Department at SIMEF (Studio Indagini Mediche E Forensi), Italy and as expert consultant for Italian penal and civil tribunals. She earned a PhD in Forensic Genetics from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. She also has a post- degree Diploma in Applied Genetics, a Master Diploma in Improvement in Psychological and Behavioural Techniques of Criminal Investigation, a diploma in Criminal Investigation, a diploma in Crime Scene Investigation and a diploma in Criminalistics: specializing in Crime Scene. She is President of the Worldwide Association of Women Forensic Experts (WAWFE), and honor member of several international associations. She is author of more than 200 papers and presentations, serving also as editor in- chief or editorial board member and reviewer for some international scientific journals. She organizes courses and conferences about forensic science and she is a lecturer in national/ international conferences/ courses. She has received many awards for her forensic activity.
Dr Barbaro has previously edited the Manual of Forensic Science (CRC Press, USA, 2017), the Manual of Criminalistics and Criminology (Tébar Flores, Spain, 2020), the Manual of Criminalistics and Criminology (Ecoe Ediciones, Colombia, 2021), and the Crime Scene Investigation Manual (CRC Press, USA, 2022) the Manual Technical Evidence in the Criminal Trial (Key Editore, Italy, 2016) along with numerous chapters in other edited volumes.
Dr. Amarnath Mishra is an Associate Professor at the Amity Institute of Forensic Sciences, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, India. Prior to that, he worked as a Founding Head of Institution & Professor at the Lloyd Institute of Forensic Science, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh; as an Associate Professor at the School of Forensics, Risk Management & National Security, Rashtriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat; Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India; Department of Forensic Science, Amity University Dubai Campus, United Arab Emirates; as an Associate Professor at the Department of Forensic Medicine, National Medical College, Birgunj affiliated to Tribhuvan University and College of Medical Sciences. He has over 18 years of experience in research, academics, administration, forensic practice, and casework.
Dr. Mishra has completed a Master of Legislative Law degree from the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana, India. He earned a PhD in Forensic Science from the Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Prayagraj (formerly SHIATS, Allahabad) in collaboration with the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Chandigarh, DFS, MHA, Govt. of India. He completed his M.Phil. degree in Biochemistry with a specialization in Forensic Biochemistry from Vinayaka Missions University, Salem, Tamilnadu, India. He earned an MSc degree in Forensic Science from the Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences, Prayagraj, in collaboration with the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad, DFS, MHA, Govt. of India. He has worked as a research scholar for the pilot study on "Non-Registration of F.I.R." at Police Stations conducted by the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), MHA, Govt. of India. He completed his BSc degree in Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He qualified in the UGC-NET examination in June 2007 for Lectureship in Forensic Science.
Dr. Mishra has published 10 books, 50 book chapters, and more than 120 research articles in reputed peer-reviewed national and international journals and delivered more than 55 invited talks at various national and international events. He has granted/published five national and international patents and one copyright.
Dr. Mishra has supervised three PhD students in the area of issue and perspective of DNA typing, method development for the analysis of anaesthetic drugs and detection of fire accelerants in arson cases. He has guided more than 300 undergraduate and postgraduate students in various programs i.e., BSc, MSc, BTech., MTech., MBBS, and MD for their major projects and dissertations. He has organized training sessions and delivered lectures to more than a hundred Investigating Officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Ministry of Personnel, Pension & Public Grievances, Govt. of India, and Officials from different countries under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (e-ITEC) Programme, Development Partnership Administration, Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India and other Investigating, National Security & Risk Management personals.
Dr. Mishra is a recipient of the National Academic Excellence Award, International Distinguished Academic Leader Award and Honorary Member of the Georgian Academy of Forensic Sciences, Georgia. He is an N.A.B.L. empanelled Technical Assessor for ISO/IEC17025. He is a paper setter and an external examiner for various academic institutions and recruitment agencies. He is an editorial board member in different reputed national and international journals. He has taught as a visiting faculty at various Institutions such as, Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Central Detective Training Institute, Ghaziabad, National P.G. College, Lucknow, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (A Central University), Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, among others. He has organized more than twenty-five events.
Dr. Mishra is a Senior Forensic Expert and Medico-legal Consultant for the Courts of Law under Section 39 of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023, India. He has also contributed his knowledge and experiences in television and radio programs as a Senior forensic expert and subject specialist. He is the founder of Aspire Forensics: Aspire Forensic Services & Aspire Forensic Institute and Amar Educational and Social Welfare Trust. In addition to his above assignments, he is serving many professional bodies and has lifetime memberships.

Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.
Information regarding the right of withdrawal
Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to SMASS Sellers, IRVING, Texas, U.S.A., without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
