Each chapter, dedicated to a specific disease or disorder, gives a solid understanding of epidemiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and medical and surgical treatments.
Synopsis: This text is designed to provide a resource for exercise clinicians working with patients suffering from a wide variety of chronic diseases and disabilities other than cardiovascular and pulmonary disease. It is an extension of two existing ACSM publications: "ACSM's Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription" and "ACSM's Resource Manual for Exercise Testing and Prescription". The many chronic diseases and disabilities addressed reflect the diverse conditions for which exercise therapy has been shown to provide benefit.
