Synopsis
Dangers still exist, even in the safest homes. The OUCH! Series of books is designed to teach our children about these dangers and how to stay away from them. In SHARP! SHARP! OUCH! we introduce children to pointy dangers we may overlook until we see a child go near them. These include knives, scissors, pins, pencils, hand tools and garden tools. We also introduce them to dangers like not reaching into the garbage can or into the dishwasher as these also contain SHARP! objects. The six cousins of the Boo Boo Brigade demonstrate the dangers while reminding the child DO NOT TOUCH! We use poetry, find the hidden cousin on the page, recognizing items as OUCH! or SAFE! and an I spy collage to make it a fun and engaging learning experience while keeping our children safe.

About the Authors
For most of his adult life Wayne has helped employees of companies avoid workplace injuries by identifying hazardous situations around them. As a father of three and grandfather of six he understands that children are also susceptible to being hurt while at home. As parents and grandparents, we generally teach our toddlers about dangers when they encounter them. The scary part is when the toddler encounters a danger and we are not there to teach them. The OUCH! Series of books is designed to help us teach our toddlers about the dangers before they encounter them. In this manner, we are preparing them to remain safe even if we are not around.
Janiene has worked with many companies assisting their employees in remaining safe while at work. Her talents as an illustrator have added a significant value to clearly conveying the safety messages. Her illustrative talents in SHARP! SHARP! OUCH! help to grab and hold the toddlers attention while they learn the valuable lessions.
