Synopsis

What if the biggest change your marriage needs isn't in your spouse-but in you?

In Medicine for Your Marriage, Christopher J. Respass and Charmaine L. Respass draw on thirty years of marriage, hard lessons, honest mistakes, biblical wisdom, and grace to offer practical help for couples who want a healthier marriage.

Using the language of diagnosis, treatment, and maintenance, the Respasses address many of the issues that quietly weaken marriages: unrealistic expectations, selfishness, the need to be right, conflict, money, intimacy, blended-family challenges, extended-family boundaries, outside relationships, forgiveness, and the pressures of work, ministry, children, and opportunity.

Rather than presenting themselves as marriage experts who have always gotten it right, Chris and Charmaine invite readers into the lessons they learned through their own successes, failures, disagreements, and growth. Their central message is simple but challenging: marriage gets better when spouses stop trying to make each other the patient and allow God to begin treating them.

Written for engaged couples preparing for marriage, couples seeking to maintain a healthy relationship, and husbands and wives trying to restore a marriage that is hurting, Medicine for Your Marriage combines biblical teaching with practical application and candid personal stories.

Moving couples from ME to WE, this pointed but caring guide offers both hope and practical medicine for building a marriage that reflects God's design.
