Synopsis

So Much to Do and See is a poetic journey through a day in the life of a preschool child. The poems are presented in three chapters: "Morning," "Afternoon," and "As the Sun Sets."

The "Morning" chapter encourages children to become involved in household chores appropriate to their skill level. The poems in "Afternoon" feature projects and playtime activities that children can actually do. "As the Sun Sets" is designed to encourage adult-child interaction through poems about ending the day, preparing for bed, and drifting into fanciful dreams.

About the Author

Having found success publishing in magazines and anthologies, Barbara Cyr Lind aspired to something more enduring. While magazine publications are often ephemeral, she longed to create a literary work that would stand the test of time. A poet at heart, she transformed hurried scribbles and thoughtful coffee-shop notes into a collection of poems for preschoolers. Barbara has met children from a wide variety of backgrounds and life experiences through her work in Southeast Michigan as a recreational leader, adoptive mother, first-grade paraeducator, PTA officer, daycare provider, Sunday School teacher and mental health worker. Now retired, she has finally found the time to reflect on the children whose lives she has been privileged to share-including her own sons, five grandchildren, and, most recently, a great-grandson. The memories of children now grown, and the hope for their little ones just starting out, inspired her debut children's book, So Much to Do and See.
