Synopsis

The Sermon on the Mount represents the evolution of a mind in a state of guilt, to a mind in a state of innocence. Its attitudes symbolize a seven-stage path where meditation is understood as empiricism applied to the journey into mind. Here, we are The Thinker, The Observer, The One Who Chooses to live through THE LAW and heal The Problem of Humanity. Having become unsatisfied with the kingdom and all its pleasures, we realize why we are poor in spirit. We have used THE LAW to take and not give, to grasp and not share, to horde and not distribute. From here, we mourn or pray the prayer of forgiveness, which is symbolically revealed in The Lord’s Prayer. As we begin this path, meekness becomes the practice of mental nonviolence and leads us to hunger and thirst for righteousness where we follow THE LAW to ITS conclusion and come to realize we must release everyone from our judgment of guilt. From here, the merciful obtain mercy and become the pure in heart or a mind in a state of innocence. Finally, having faced the fear within our own mind, we understand why we will be persecuted for righteousness’ sake. A mind in a state of guilt fears innocence and will attack it in the name of self-defense. However, being a Child of God, we are the thought as God thought it and willingly embrace The Sacrifice.
