About the Author
David C. Hoke grew up on RoboCop, Die Hard, and Star Wars, and spent years making indie films in Texas - writing, producing, and directing pictures that landed in regional theaters, on television, and on Amazon Prime. When the stories got bigger than the budgets he could raise, he did the only logical thing and wrote them as novels instead. Pistol Jake is his Old West thriller - the moral weight and landscape of a John Ford picture, with the violence and the sex Ford never got to shoot. His sci-fi series Mirov, about a genetically enhanced assassin betrayed by the government that built her, won the BookFest Award and the Reader Views Reviewers' Choice Award and has drawn comparisons to RoboCop, Aliens, and The Hunger Games. His books are bloody, R-rated, and unapologetic. If you came looking for safe and sanitized, you made a wrong turn. He lives in Central Texas with his family, where he'd rather be grilling and watching football than anywhere else on earth.
