Synopsis
No One Is Listening is a memoir about a marriage that slowly turned dangerous and the warning signs that were missed along the way. Ray Floyd recounts his relationship with his second wife, from a promising reconnection to a gradual unraveling marked by paranoia, manipulation, and escalating instability.
As her behaviour becomes more erratic and her grip on reality weakens, Ray finds himself trapped in a situation he does not fully understand and cannot easily escape. Attempts to seek help only reveal how difficult it is to be believed when the threat comes from someone close.
Set against real events and real consequences, this book explores domestic abuse from the rarely told perspective of a male survivor, the failures of systems meant to protect victims, and the lasting psychological impact of living under constant threat.
