Una de esas Medeas recientes en las que se han colocado nuevas cargas explosivas es la que ha escrito Iran Capote bajo el título Medea prefabricada. Su heroína se enorgullece de su condición de mujer, sin pudor ni recato alguno: de su naturaleza femenina brotan toda su garra y furor. Para esta Medea, pensar y amar pasan necesariamente por su condición de hembra, entendida en su sentido más físico, impulsivo y primigenio.
Capote añade así a la estructura preelaborada (o “prefabricada”) que hereda del mito una mayor complejidad, entrelazando diversidad sexual y exilio. Y si para Homero el espacio timótico, el lugar de las emociones, reside en el pecho o el corazón, en Medea prefabricada ese pensar y amar se reformulan desde la corporalidad femenina, que se convierte en el centro de su identidad y su acción dramática.
