She’s already juggling the secrets of her two queer aunts, Celia and Maddie, whose lives go against the beliefs of her Orthodox Jewish community. Although Shevy loves them deeply, she feels the heavy burden of hiding their existence to avoid the community's harsh judgment.

Shevy's mother is torn between the desire to support Celia and Maddie and the fear of severe backlash from their religious community.
