Synopsis

Draw Me Close: A Journey Towards Selfless Faith is a story of two main parts. The first section demonstrates Holly's early struggles of trying to live life without God and how He patiently drew her close to Him over the years, teaching her to trust, obey, and give generously. The second section chronicles Holly's journey of donating her kidney to a stranger, becoming friends with the recipient, and sharing her faith with her new friend. Interspersed between each chapter, Holly shares devotions she wrote along the way, giving readers glimpses of God's provisions for her and her family throughout the entire journey. At the end of each chapter are also Points to Ponder, where the reader is challenged to contemplate how their own journeys might also be affected by drawing close to God and sacrificially giving of themselves to others.

About the Author

Holly Armstrong - lover of Jesus, also claims the titles of wife, mother, educator, athlete, organ donor, missionary, author, and speaker, to name a few. She resides in South Carolina with her family and numerous fur babies. Holly holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography and Environmental Systems, a Minor in History, a Master of Arts in Education, and Post Baccalaureate Certificates in Instructional Design and Computer Based Training. She was a former computer trainer and training consultant but found her true passion in homeschooling her three children and teaching other homeschoolers in their homeschool cooperatives. In addition, Holly is a longtime member and leader at Community Bible Study (CBS) and is currently the Associate Teaching Director of her class in Charlotte, NC. Besides spending time with her family and cheering on her teenagers at their sporting events, Holly enjoys running, swimming, gardening, and taking prayer walks. Holly loves sharing her testimony of God's faithfulness to anyone who will listen, whether individually while in line at the grocery store or in a room full of people.
